DEIAC Policy Update
During the September 22nd school board meeting, they discussed updating the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory (DEIAC) policy. You can watch the meeting here. They discussed removing the requirement that "Committee members are expected to have a demonstrated interest in, and commitment to, advancing the District’s DEI initiatives and efforts." This was a requirement in the previous policy, and I repeatedly expressed to the entire board the importance of these 20 words.

In their own words
Since starting this campaign in late July, I have participated in a candidate interview with the Saline Education Association and Education Support Professionals. I also participated in the Washtenaw County Democratic Party candidate forum. And I look forward to the League of Women Voters forum on 10/5. I am honored to attend any candidate forum I am invited to because there are so few opportunities to get to know your school board candidates, and we have 4 seats on the ballo

Unions have led the way for many of the hard-fought rights we enjoy today. Did you know that the largest labor union in the U

To participate, I needed to complete a candidate questionnaire for the Michigan Education Association Political Action Committee. I did not earn their endorsement, but I earned their encouragement. Below are my responses to the Candidate Questionnaire. Why are you running for this position at this time? My advo
