Today is the big day! School buses are rolling out across the district. For parents doing school drop off and pick up, save yourself some extra time, and don't forget to breathe. I hope students and staff have a great school year!

To all drivers, please watch for buses!

Have you heard about Operation Safe Stop? It is a statewide enforcement of laws focused on bus safety. It takes place during National School Bus Safety Week, which will be 10/13-23 this year.

In 2025, a one-day survey of 3,153 bus drivers reported that 2,207 drivers illegally passed school buses. In 2024, 54 accidents occurred at bus stops, injuring 26 people and killing 1 person.

Safety tips:

Be prepared to stop when a bus has its yellow lights flashing.

Stop at least 20 feet away from buses when red lights are flashing

Never pass a bus that is stopped with flashing red lights unless you are on a divided highway.

Let's have a safe 2026-2027 school year!
